Aromatherapy Certificate Level 3

When: Tuesday Afternoons

This course is an introduction to Aromatherapy and Massage techniques. The learner will acquire knowledge of the therapeutic uses of the most common Aromatherapy oils. Massage movements and techniques will be demonstrated by the tutor and learners will be given the opportunity to practice these skills on each other. Health and safety with regard to contraindications to massage and the safe use of oils will also be taught. Massage couches and equipment will be provided though learners are encouraged to build up their own stock of oils.

This course is essential preparation for those wishing to do level 3 and go on to practice Aromatherapy. A professional code of dress and conduct is adhered to throughout both levels and learners are expected to purchase a uniform (see details below).

By the end of the course you should be able to...

1. Demonstrate competence in performing a variety of massage techniques.

2. Demonstrate a working knowledge of Aromatherapy oils and their therapeutic uses.

3. Demonstrate an understanding of the contraindications to treatment with oils and massage.

4. Demonstrate an understanding of the current guidelines for health & safety with regard to storage, use of oils and treating members of the public.

5. Demonstrate a basic knowledge of related anatomy and physiology.
