Practitioners / Teachers » Jessica Grady
Jessica is an embroidery artist from the North Yorkshire coast. Her colourful and
contemporary work has been exhibited in various galleries across the UK and
Europe. She has also recently won the RAW Talent 2017 award programme, for
emerging artists. Her textiles are a bold exploration of colour and pattern
through stitching and embellishment. Her work utilises many mixed media
materials, such as plumbing washers, elastic bands and cotton buds. She uses
various processes such as dyeing, spray painting, melting and screen-printing to
create each individual embellishment.
Her designs are a textural and visual feast, combining saturated colour palettes
and clusters of embellished treasure. Jessica’s inspiration is derived from macro
views of surfaces from her home on the Yorkshire coastline. Her textiles provide a statement in any interior space.
