Existential Psychotherapy

When: Wednesdays

What is Existential psychotherapy?

Existential counselling or psychotherapy takes a philosophical approach to understanding the practical experiences and challenges of day to day living given the limitations of what it is to be human. The conditions of our lives- the particular place in which we are borne, the historical time, the shape of our physical body, the language, the number of siblings, the economic condition of our family etc- all play a role in shaping our responses to the challenge of living. The way we find to live meaningful lives, the choices we make, and how we interpret and experience the world in which we live are all focuses for existential inquiry. One of the important existential questions that will be addressed through counselling is:  “How do I manoeuvre my way around my present problems and find a way through whilst becoming more honest with myself and in tune with my limitations and my possibilities so that I can become more able to live a contented life in harmony with my aspirations?”
